 Olancha Sculpture Garden

Magical Garden in the middle of the desert! A definite must see for everyone on the way to or coming back from Death Valley National Park!

Olancha Sculpture Garden – Olancha, California By Rolando Chang Barrero

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a magical surprise in the middle of the desert! The Olancha Sculpture Garden is an extraordinary collection of whimsical, thought-provoking sculptures rising out of the Mojave sands. Created by artist Jael Hoffmann, this open-air art installation blends surreal creativity with the rugged beauty of the high desert — making it a true hidden gem for travelers.

Each sculpture tells its own story, inviting visitors to pause, reflect, and connect with the art and landscape. It’s a photographer’s dream and a wonderful break for anyone driving between Death Valley National Park and the Sierra Nevada. Bella and I were amazed by the vibrant energy and imaginative spirit that fills this place!

📍 Getting There:
If you’re coming from Death Valley National Park, take CA-190 West toward Olancha, then merge onto US-395 South — the Sculpture Garden is located just off the highway near the intersection of US-395 and Walker Creek Road, on the right-hand side before you enter town.

If you’re heading toward Death Valley, it’s an easy stop just north of Olancha before turning east onto CA-190 East into the park.

A definite must-see for anyone traveling through the area — quirky, inspiring, and truly one-of-a-kind!
